The OP doesn’t have the ability to use regular snares. If snares (cable restraint) depending on whether or not it’s using breakaways, relaxing locks etc you can release just about any non target animal caught. The exception would be in a fence crawl under where they will usually tangle.
Live traps work but not always. Your own pets can be controlled and the neighbor should do the same.

I used leg traps after a fox dug under a gate and killed several of my birds, this was several years ago. I live in a rural area where most people have several acres like us. I also live on a dead end road. I caught the fox and quickly took care of it and then put concrete under all of the gates but it wasn't long before another fox showed up.
