Just sitting here starring at the new Cornish X chicks I got.

So many ways to cook them, BBQ, Baked, Frying....I suddenly realise...These chicks aren't going to last long...

Where did you get your CX from? I know the feeling, my RB's look delicious and next week is freezer camp.

Im butchering my own, is there another way to do it?

Got my CX from someone at church, he told me they were leghorns...was pretty dissapointed but then I realised...Hey! These are broiler birds and they are already 4 weeks old and super fat.

Ill just buy leghorns in another 4 weeks haha

I think they originally came from a chicken factory around here or something, not really sure. Pretty sure they aren't hatchery tho.

let's see...BBQ, broiled, fried, baked...just about anyway is good with me. Mine are 4 weeks old and getting bigger ever day. We tried the freedom rangers last year, but for some reason, we were just not impressed with the flavor of them. I had folks tell me to not bother trying the cornish X because they are the same as what you get in the food store. THEY ARE NOT. Maybe same hybrid, but NOT the same taste. Ours were soooooo tasty. By the way, I bought some rubber plucker fingers, made my own little plucking machine and from the time I pull them out of the hot water, they are spick and span clean, no feathers, and ready to go. When's dinner!!!!!
