Ok, so in science we are doing the whole life science junk. (Not really my thing) I thought of a way to incorporate something I love into it; to make science class less boring. HATCHING EGGS! I talked to my teacher a few times about it and she said she would like to do it, but she can’t supply the class with anything. That means I will have to supply the things needed for incubation. I don’t mind this…at all. The bad part is that I don’t have an incubator and no one else in my class does. I thought about asking my mom for this incubator for Easter, http://www.brinsea.com/prod-Mini_Advance_fully_digital_7_egg_incubator-230.aspx but I am getting the ecoglow brooder lamp instead. Would any of you recommend this or have anything to share about this incubator? Once the chicks hatched I would have to take them home, but I have had some experience with brooding chicks before so I am not worried about that part. This is my first time hatching eggs, so I need to know all about the process. Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

you might check with your local ag extension service...some of them have them to lend out to classes...

and there is nothing wrong with the whole life science junk!

It is just a little bit important considering you are a life!

Find a location that has a stable temp. May be less important with a brinsea.?
I follow instructions from the incubator. I am not an expert and dont pretend to be.
I set school hatches on Wed. so they hatch midweek.
You also want to make sure lockdown does not occur over a weekend.
Run the incubator a few days to stabalize temps, but I hear Brinseas are really great. They may not need it?
Local eggs always have a higher success, but I we always end up ordering breeds we want.
Get on this forum with all questions!!!
