I'm so excited!!!

Question: How long 'til they dry off and get all fluffy???

Lock down for me Friday evening. I'm getting close. Hope some hatch out.

I was told to leave them in the 'bator for @ least 24hrs!

The first ones out this morning are mostly dry..
I have 4 chickies now and bunches of pips!

5 now...

Well, I just went into lockdown at 6 this evening. Everyone wish me luck! The next three days are going to kill me. I have a dozen in a homemade incubator. Six are from my hens nd six from a friends. Mine are High Production Reds and not sure what the others are. The eggs are very large and a dark brown and they're the ones I hope hatch all right.

A friend and I bought a LG still air incubator, calibrated it per instructions, set it in a nicely draft-free, pet-free, pest-free area (our well insulated wellhouse), and now I've got eggs on the brain. We have a couple dozen standard-sized grown chickens of various breeds and mixed breeds, plus 4 bantams. We also have 4 baby araucana chicks and 23 mutt chicks that we bought at a local auction. We've set a half dozen bantam eggs and about 20 standards -- may as well go all-out! Here's hoping to a brand new batch of chicks before the end of the month!

Congrats to all on successful hatches and good luck to those still hatching!
Will end up with 5 Buff Orpingtons and 6 BO/Easter Egger mixes--guess they are just easter eggers;)
