I know what kind of fur Rexes have. The build and formation looks like a mini rex though. It's probably a mix.
Some people throw breed names around without knowing what they mean, which is why I clarified. (Like the people who think they have a Silkie chicken, when it does not have Silkie feathers.)

I agree it could be a mix.

I promise i know my breeds. 😉 At first glance it looked like a rex. I replied before looking closely. She is a mix. :D Mixes are great too!

Hello everyone, I'm long overdue for an update. Aspen is doing amazing! I'm still trying to find a vet to get her checked out at, but I thinI'mg getting somewhere. She's been inside almost daily, and I've finally been able to move her into our bathroom. That will be her final location. It got cold pretty quick around here, and even though I know they can do fine the cold, and sudden drop made me worried. She's being with the cats, and very interested in them. They've touched noses, and Baby, one of our cats, loves playing in Aspen's straw house. :D She's not to sure about the dogs yet, but tolerates nose bumps, and the dogs are doing a great job at respecting her space.
Other than that, I do have no question, anyone have tips of poppy training? She was doing good in the begging, and when she's in the house she most only poops on her blanket around the litter box, but in her pen she's started to pee on the blanket now, and she poops everywhere. I've been picking up her droppings and cleaning the blanket with Natures Miracle cage cleaner when she pees. Any other suggestions? Its been a bit now and I'm hoping she'll get it soon. Thank you everyone!

Thank you! Interesting he's a meat breed, good to know!
I didn't think so, and at least not tonight, he hasn't moved much from his corner. How much do you suggest feeding him? 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup of pellets?
Also wondering how much space you would recommend per rabbit. Eventually I want to have an outdoor rabbit "tractor" that I use to move him around. The summers can get hot, so I'm wondering if I should have an area of wire off the ground. I'm considering a setup similar to this-

But possibly covering the run? Definitely adding a skirt for predator prevention. The skirt will likely be an additional wood frame around the bottom with wire connecting to it, so no need for stakes. I want there to be enough room in the run so that I could add an extra rabbit or two, do they need a buddy like chickens do?
Would you suggest making the run big enough to walk in, is that important in befriending them etc? I would definitly make the top hinge open so I could access it from above if I didn't make it tall enough to walk in.
Thanks so much for the help everyone! I appreciate it!

Is he neutered? If so, getting him a friend is a great idea. Rabbits are very social creatures. If he's not, that could complicate things. Male rabbits that aren't fixed rarely get along with each other and normally they will just fight and could kill each other. And if you added a female, fixed or not he would most likely try and mate her. But if he's fixed and you get him a fixed companion they will most likely love each other. They will need to be introduced carefully in case they don't like each other at first. It's best to introduce in a different area than where one or the other live (It's would probably be fine in the tractor if it's moved to new grass beforehand). If fixed either gender should get along well but a male and female normally get along best. Beautiful rabbit.

Thanks for responding. I appreciate the information.
This thread is pretty old, I almost forgot about it.
I wanted to get Aspen a friend, it was a goal of mine.
Unfortunately, I had to put Aspen down a couple months ago. She had some hind leg/spinal issues when I got her, and by the time I made an appointment, she started to down spiral very quickly. It was very unfortunate. 😔
RIP, Aspen.
