I put two hens in with my rooster to breed, and they want absolutely nothing to do with him. He struts around and does the little dance around them, but they hate his guts. He tries to breed, and they run. So what do I do now?

get him some fat chickens...I am stopping before I go there again...

...I can't control myself...have you tried buying them gifts? a night out on the town with a limo?

...sometimes I can't help myself...watch out there are others worse than me!

By the way...welcome

Maybe they just need more time. How long have they been together? If it's only been a wk or so, no worries, they'll be getting comfy before too much longer. If that doesn't work, try flowers, dinner & a movie!

Well, some boys just have limited social skills... He's not a rocket scientist by any chance is he? Have you noticed a little chicken pocket protector on his breast? That'd be a big clue. Is he still living with his mama? That's another hint, let me tell you!

He's just figuring it all out and the girly click still thinks he has cooties. It'll all work out eventually.

Get somemeal worms and see if he picks them up or clucks to them to tell them about the treats. If he eats them and does not offer them to the hens he's not going to get the job done.
