I'm looking for ideas for a way to build a simple tree bench for protection below

At first I was thinking of like an extended tarp from the privacy fence to the HUGE tree but then I came across an image of a tree bench. I need something quick because they have no cover at all in their new area until the bushes and trees grow enough. I free range in the city, and I do have a goose that offers some protection. If I was bored I could build one but I am pretty busy cleaning out the garage they've been in for 6 months and moving stuff out of storage into the garage. So any ideas to give them protection at the bottom of this huge tree or a simple bench tree that I could build, or any ideas I haven't thought of, etc would be appreciated.

I did find a simpler bench tree to make...something that I can make with little effort...I needed a bench they could hang under. There are purchase-able options but they had no space beneath the bench. My tree is huge though, so we'll see if it's doable.

Is that specifically what you want/need for the situation? To build one of those for a larger tree is essentially like fabricating a raised deck. IMO that's a pretty costly build just for overhead protection and a place to sit.

If you need temporary protection, look into something like a free old trampoline - people use those frames for making inexpensive run spaces for chickens. You could likely even adapt it around a large tree if that's the location.

Good luck

The bench would be ideal because I would make mowing easier...and it would keep them under the tree most of the time and give them shade but the tree is too big, so since time is of the essence, I am just making a quick 4x4 square shelter, near the tree. I moved them from their lush japanese maple so they are staying inside the coop right now because they feel unprotected.
