I'm making a free flock management system

I agree with this idea I think that would be pretty easy for just about everyone.

Also I like the idea of having to pick between a duck, chicken, goose and turkey under your Flock tab that way all the birds would be in one spot. If you then needed to see only duck info and/or duck and turkey info you could select those two and the information would be filtered to fit those you selected.

Love the way it looks so far your doing a great job

Would there be any extra features that ducks/guineas would require?

Printing is the part that is stumping me. What I was thinking about doing is the ability to save reports in the .odf format, which can be easily opened by Microsoft Word or any word processor and printed from there. Do you think this would be to much work for you?

This is where you can see the project book that the 4-H (in our area) is using now. I guess the 1 thing that really doesn't apply to ducks is the cock/hen section. Waterfowl are different as they go by drake/duck , gander/goose It would be great to seperate out by type of bird as 1 of my kids has guineas, a duck and a chicken for his project this year. Another has ducks and chickens. As far as printing out that I'm not good at. I know I for 1 do not have Microsoft Word and this does make life difficult as it seems everyone else does. I can read from word, but not do anything with it such as copy and paste, etc. Had a trial version in which I created documents and now I can only read them and can not make any changes to them.

http://www.openoffice.org is a free office suite that can do everything Microsoft Office can. It's what I use. But that would mean an extra download for anyone who wanted reports and who didn't have Word.

Thanks, I do use OpenOffice, but it is a pain. One of these days I will break down and get Microsoft Office.

Hello, there is already an Excel spreadsheet made up. I posted it last year and was letting everyone know it is now labeled for 2010. Just click on the website link on my signature line. You will see the chicken link at the top of the page. Let me know if you have any problems. This might save you some work!!!
Enjoy, Raisin.

TM-excuse my ignorance in computers but do I need to download Office first before I can use your software? I see where I can get M.S. Office 2007 for free on line and if I need it I will download it tonight as I have dial-up and it will take several hours to download it.

What I really want is a calendar feature that would track my birds' ages in weeks. See currently I use google calendar and manually input each group's weekly birthday, and lets just say it's TEDIOUS!

I would like to be able to put in say "first chickens b-day" and each week thereafter it would say "first chickens x weeks old" and I would like to be able to track multiple groups on the same calendar maybe even color coding them for ease.

Think you got anything similar to that???
