im new 2 the whole chicken scene and i need some help

im new 2 the whole chicken scene i just got my babies 2 days ago and i have no idea what im doing i tried 2 do all my research before i got the little puff balls but im confused if some one could tell me what all the abreviations are because i dont no what this stuff means like rir and iun. also im using lights to heat the brooder and am i suposed to keep them on all night.

I'll help a little - relatively new, just got mine this morning!

Anyway, they need to be kept at 95 degrees the first week then dropping by 5 degrees a week every week after that. So yes, the heat lamps need to be on 24/7.

Make sure you are using a chick starter food and they have access to water.

RIR is rhode island red, I believe (a breed of chicken). Someone else will have to jump in with more info.

and do u no when 2 move them into a coop/pen

I believe 6-8 weeks is normal, but it depends on whether they have their feathers yet, what breed they are, and how cold it is outside. Some folks move them out a lot earlier if it is warm or they can set the heat lamp up in the coop.
