I'm new at chickens and I have a few questions.

I am getting some chicks and I was wondering if I put a female silkie with the chicks (they will probably be faverolles) will she try and take care of the chicks? I'm getting 2-3 chicks.
Also I live in belgium where it's really wet and gets reasonably cold in the winter and quite warm in the summer. Will the chicks be fine as adults.
Is it a good idea to keep them with 1 silkie or 2?

The Silkie should be broody before you give her chicks.

It is not 100% that the silkie will accept the chicks if she is not in a broody state.

But Silkies have been known to adopt when not broody but very very rare.
