You don't need a dust bath, but your birds would love one! It helps keep external parasites under control. If you have some exposed dirt in your run, they'll dust in that. If you really want to pamper them, put a box of sand and DE in their coop

Take your time deciding on the use of DE. I was going to get some but decided against it after learning it's not really a necessity and there is lots of controvery over it. I'm not one to look too much into the organic way of things but figured I wouldn't use it if I didn't have to just because it's another thing to buy and well I'm sure your figuring out that it seems like your alawys needing something. I'm not at all against it's use seems like many others use and don't have problems just figure why use it as long as your flock is healthy and happy without it.
