I'm wanting a few chickens just have to read all I can before I jump in. I live in Kingman, AZ. it's about 80 miles south of Las Vegas,Nv.
Been married 41 years this year, when I married my husband his family had 20,000 chickens, they sold the eggs. My husband told me he could buy all the eggs I wanted from the store but I love chickens so I think we'll try 4 or 5 just for fun & the eggs.
There's alot of great info. here! Glad I found it. I think Google found it for me.

    Welcome,

once you get your chickens, you will wonder how you ever got along without them!

And you won't want to be without chickens ever again. :O)

    Hello! [IMG]
    [IMG] from Australia!

BYC is awesome. I haven't been able to stop posting ever since maybe... oh, I don't know, a week after I joined? [IMG]
IT's such a great place, you'll love it here. A lot of great advice, I'm sure you'll find everything you need [IMG]
Good luck with the chickens. Starting out is daunting, I remember every single peep I'd get paranoid about that the chicks were too hot, too cold, too thirsty, too... bored, etc. [IMG]

What breeds are you planning on getting? Ours are sex-links, they give us an egg a day, so if you like eggs I'd recommend those: we haven't had to buy an egg since we got them [IMG]
