I'm new here and new to chickens

Hello, I am new here, obviously. I am also new to chickens and learning as I go, thought this place could help as I already have questions. We got our hens last March, only 8, but lost one. But the other seven are doing fine and have started laying. We have a rooster to, he is delighted and keeping very busy. Found my first egg the other day, well, found eleven, I didn't know anyone was laying eggs yet until I accidentally found these. Since then I have been on an egg hunt and have found maybe another dozen or so. I was thrilled when I found my first eggs but the camera battery was dead so no photos to post.

Look forward to finding my way around and making new friends. I already have many questions for all you smart folks.
