Hello everyone - I am new to the forum as a poster, although I have lurked here for a LONG time. Here goes....
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We got our first chickens over 2 years ago by ordering 7 chicks by mail. We have since then expanded our flock, learned by trial and error, gotten much information from Backyard Chickens (thanks!), and built chicken pens and coops aplenty.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 12 chickens in two age ranges - grown adults and younger adults.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 1 Speckled Sussex, 1 Black Australorp, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Cornish Cross, and 2 Red Ranger mixes. All are hens except for one very nice rooster.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Internet search for advice about raising chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We enjoy farmwork, gardening, woodworking, and sewing.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We live on a small farm with the 12 chickens, 4 horses (2 Arabians and 2 mustangs), 2 dogs, 7 cats, and 4 people.
