Hello all! I am from northern mn and have had chickens for about 6 months. Growing up, my parents raised chickens and ducks of varying breeds. Now, at 29, I have started raising chickens too. It started by accident. The home I moved to had a coop and the previous owners abandoned 2 barred rocks and a white duck. I immediately began to fix their coop up and kept them happy. This spring, my husband and I completely re did their coop. We installed a brooder, weaning pen and main coop for the adult chickens. We purchased 4Br 4rir and 4 amerucanas as well as 2 ducklings (the duck we took in moved to the neighbors, to be with the peacocks) now after 6 weeks I'm joining a community of People like me.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
