I'm new - hi

I posted in emergency as well.

The cage is something a raccoon can't chew though. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that a raccoon can get and pull the chicken through such a small opening. We had chickens years ago and they always went up in the trees and then flew out in the AM. For some reason this new batch doesn't do that so we have been locking them up at night. Unfortunately, I didn't think the raccoon could get them

I will have to look into something much more secure. I just need to know what to do about the wing bone just hanging there. The locgical thing to do would be to cut it off so the chicken doesn't have to live like that, but I don't know.

First welcom to BYC.
Second, how much of the wing is left? Maybe such a thing you may have to go up to the next joint and remove the exposed bone. Kinda hard to say with out seeing pictures of what is left.

from NH. Glad you found us. Too bad it is not under better circumstances.

Wow, sorry, hope there is someone who can advise you. I fear leaving the bone exposed can lead to many bad things, but have no experience to guide you. Good luck! Welcome!
