I'm not new to BYC or Poultry but I am new to Turkeys.

I've already run into my first issue: Splayed Leg.

General Information:

Sold as Palm Turkeys but I believe they may be White broad breasteds

Approximantly a week old

On Game Feed

I've already tried:

Band Aid: I couldn't get it tight enough so it fell off

Medical Tape: Couldn't get it to stay in place

I'm now trying the pipe cleaner method. It can walk but the legs still hang a bit farther apart then the normal poult. Is this normal when recovering?

Well hi there Kevin565, nice to see you in the turkey forum! I don't have much advice for splayed leg for you, but I would keep doing what you are doing until one of the turkey old timers (a compliment) comes along with some help. I will tell you though the turkey forum moves much slower than the duck.

Is there a particular reason you believe them to be broad breasted whites? My palm are 8 weeks old and are only now really getting their markings. The first set of feathers seems to come in all or mostly white.

Hey Nickie! Totally forgot I posted in this section. You can tell I'm a Turkey Noob

. Splayed Leg has been fixed and is now up and about running with it's friend. I don't know I just have a hunch it's going to end up being one. I'm really hoping I'm wrong because I've wanted Palms forever
