I'm new to BYC

Hello all! I live in Elk Grove, Ca and am new to the BackYard Chicken culture. I've been wanting chickens for a long time now, but guess what.....I'm on my way today to purchase my first pair. I have been a silent partner on this site, reading and learning a lot from all the members. To that, I say thank you to all for helping to educate me and get me ready to take the plunge to this back yard life. I chose to start off with buff orpingtons. Hopefully they will be a great match for me and my neighbors (low noise???).

Hens are pretty quiet. But you know how neighbors are....it is ok for the barking dogs to go on all night, but the sight of a chicken gets them reeling!!

Good luck with your Buffs. They are great birds to keep!!
