Welcome to BYC! What breeds are you planning on getting?

We've ordered 12 chick: 4 Rhode Island Reds, 4 Barred Rock and 4 Ameraucanas.

The last chicks may actually be Americanas because they were not any more expensive than the others. See - I'm learning already!

From Hatcheries, they will be EEs and lay mostly blue and green eggs.

. Make sure to clean coop very good. Also, Pine shavings are good when they are bigger. In my experience, when they are small and still in brooder I used layers of paper towels, then a bunch of their feed on top. That way all they eat is the feed. Mine were getting shavings stuck in their throat. My brooder was in my house. I used cardboard, grey tape, and the plastic wire for windows when they get bigger for air.
