. Make sure to clean coop very good. Also, Pine shavings are good when they are bigger. In my experience, when they are small and still in brooder I used layers of paper towels, then a bunch of their feed on top. That way all they eat is the feed. Mine were getting shavings stuck in their throat. My brooder was in my house. I used cardboard, grey tape, and the plastic wire for windows when they get bigger for air.
