I'm new to chickens

Hi, My name is Sarah and I'm learning all about chickens before my new little chicks arrive next month. I have the advantage of using my sister's existing coop but I'm already making changes and improvements (I hope!). This site is great for learning and sharing!
Hi from one Mainah to another. I live in New Portland. Just moved here last May. I have 4 chickens. A BO and an ISABrown around 2 years old give or take. 2 SLW about 32 weeks old. All 4 laid all winter and are still laying. Got 4 eggs today. Love my birds. I have 2 dozen eggs sitting on the sideboard right now. How many chicks are you getting? My BO and ISA Brown were given to me around July/August. This is their second winter. I got the 2 SLW at Thanksgiving time at 16 weeks from a lady down in Farmington. They started laying around end of Dec or beginning of January. Good luck and come here with all your questions.
