I am new to hatching eggs. I have had one successful hatch. The rest died around hatch day now I have several in incubator, I have 1 that I was candling before lockdown and my dog bumped me and the table the egg rolled off and broke badly. I'm scared I'm going to lose it or I already have. I have read so many things I can try, like coconut/olive oil on exposed membrane wrap in moist warm towel put in incubator. But how long will it survive? It happened yesterday morning, hatch day is approximately tomorrow or Thursday. I see the blood vessels they are still red, I know chicks movement slows down before hatch 🐣. I just don't want to lose another baby. What can I do?

Good morning, and welcome to BYC. Cracks can be sealed with wax - even bits of tape. If damage is significant, keeping the membrane pliable is about all that you can do. I'd also separate the egg from the others so that early hatching chicks don't 'mess' with it. Good luck.
I have it in a separate incubator. Damage is bad. I was so freaked out I haven't gotten any pictures but the whole large end of shell is gone. I could see chicks beak and it was moving last night when I had to rewrap with damp towel. I raised humidity. Just worried 😫
Thank you for your help
