Hi we found a neat of duck eggs mama had been sitting on and animal control was disposing of the eggs. He "turned away" and didn't see us take two.( he knew) but we made a home incubator. Candled at one week and had one that wasn't fertile and one with veins and heart beat. Now it's day 29 ... I could see movement on day 26 and then it just stopped. I can still see defined veins. It looks like the head of the duck is near the air cell. But hasn't moved. I didn't expect to ever even get a fertile egg, but now I'm bummed and feel bad cause I think it died. I know I'm no pro at this and I'm sure I did something to create its demise. :-( but my question is, if it is in fact dead, would I still see veins that are vibrant red, and nothing loos different except the lack of movement? Any input would be great!
