    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I had chickens briefly when I was very young, but this is the first time that I have raised chickens at my house for the purpose of supplying eggs for my family.

    (2) How many chickens do you have right now?

    I currently have 4 peeps.

    (3) What breeds do you have?

2 Rhode island reds and 2 black sex links

    (4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

From searching Google for help with getting started with chickens.

    (5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Hunting, fishing, hiking, Target shooting, pretty much anything outside!

    (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

    Hello and welcome to BYC

To refresh your memory- here's a good link where you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

    Glad you're here !

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/)
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, if you're into gardening, feel free to join this years SEED SWAP (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/seed-swap.1220129/)

G'Day from down under Pooze :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Please do check out the Topic of the Week discussions Pork Pie mentioned. I have found these to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock and/or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
