I'm new

1) yes, I am new to chickens. I will be getting my first flock next spring

(2) right now, 0 but in the spring I plan on 5 or 6

(3) I want 3 silkies, 2 cochin and I'm debating on a barred rock (the kids fell in love with silkies when they held them on a farm a month ago and now it's all they talk about)

(4) I found BYC from searching and surfing the internet.

(5) some of my other hobbies are gardening, knitting, crocheting, cross-stich

(6) I'm married to my high school sweetheart and we have 3 children.

You might like the idea and start a thread for your chickens or chicks when you get them. I like looking back and seeing what we changed. We are trying to successfully free range and at the moment its not much of a success but im determined.
But lovely to meet you. Ill follow you. Im excited to see your future flock.

I read everything I could for two years before I got my first birds. Of course I started with 7 and am now over 150...chicken math is real, also turkey and duck math too.. Maybe we should just call it poultry math.
