Im no good at naming, help me!

The ones I've named so far are mostly Jane Austen characters. Keeping chickens seems like such an old-fashioned thing to do, it just seemed to cry out for some good 19th century names. Right now we have Georgiana, Eliza, and Doreen (I've had that Old 97's song stuck in my head for the last week or so.)

Sorry, I can't help with the breeds cuz I'm still really new to 'chickering'.

Mine aren't yet 2 weeks old, but once I learn their individual personalities a little better, I plan to name my Polish after the few words I know from my moms parents: Kapusta; Galabki; Pierogi; Babka; Dupa

I'm also part Irish, so the EE's will be Irish gals: Colleen, Brigid, Fionna, Muirna, Neila...

My barreds will prolly get those wonderful old traditional names like Agatha, Beatrice, Blanche. There's a site called nameberry.com that has some great ideas for dear old gals...

Ain't this a blast!!

I named mine after woman I admire. Elizabeth Cady Stanton (Cady), Susan B. Anthony (Anthony), Harriet Tubman (recently culled due to being a Harry Tubman), Sojourner Truth (Truth), Alice Paul (Alice or Paul), Golda Meir (Goldie), and Emily Dickenson (Emmy).
I figure it will take a while togo through all the names od admirable women.

I think I will name my ducks after flowers.

I have named mine after my grandmothers and great grandmothers: Sophia, Frances, Anna, Julia, Josephine, Vopel, Georgette...

I have always loved the Beatles so all my girls (hopefully) are named after girls mentioned in Beatles songs. Penny Lane, Eleanor Rigby, Lucy, and Prudence....but I had to name the eccentric Polish girl Yoko Ono. When my flock gets bigger I still have a lot of names to choose from, Rita,Julia, Blackbird etc.

I pick out a naming scheme for animals. For instance, my cats have names that have meaning in Gaelic (except for ginger, but an ex named her), the majority of my dogs have been named out of the Lord of the Rings, my rats have all been named after wizards, and my chickens are all named after chicken dishes. You find a theme that works with your interests, makes calling them easier. Though my mother refused to let me name a dog Nazgul...
