I'm now a hen owner!!!!

Yeah, my coop was a simple 12' x 12' and that was enough..... for a while.

yes, as stated we ARE enablers! congrats on your first girls. You are in for a real treat if you have never had them before. They will keep you smiling, laughing, and yes, crying for the rest of your life!

LOL! I already know we're going to need more space! DH is starting our permanent coop (the one we have is a little cramped, in my opinion, although it's technically "fine") and we'll use the smaller one that came with the girls as a brooder or mating area after we're all set up. My husband wasn't too keen on getting a duck. He LOVES her already (even though the first thing she did in the temporary pen was upset the water dish and poop EVERYWHERE). My dog even thinks they're pretty interesting (the birds are bigger than my dog!).

Any advice on which breeds (of the ones I have) are more likely to go broody? We want to try starting some hatching eggs in a few weeks (probably closer to mid-February). Also, any recommendations on what breed of rooster is best?
