I agree, chickens are a much better habit. Does he not like eggs for breakfast? Or relaxing in the evening, watching their silly habits? What does he not like? My DH has been pretty good about our chickens, we had 18 at one time and may be close to that number again soon. He enjoys that the chickens are relaxing to me, that DD has a fresh egg to start the school day with every morning and enjoys bringing people fresh eggs as small thank you gifts, welcoming neighbors into the neighborhood and supplying our neighbors with teenage boys extra eggs. Yes there is work involved, but I think he kind of enjoys that in his mid 60's, he still gets to build things sometimes. Hope things get better. (Hate when DD rats me out before I can present something in the way I think is bestI was going to break it to him gently but my 10 year old beat me to the punch, selling me out early. My husband says, "So let me get this straight... now you have TWENTY chickens?!" ...ummm, yes. Yes I do.
I think this a MUCH better habit than my designer handbag addiction I had several years ago!
