So all this pecking order thing IS interesting. I ended up with 4 roos and only ordered 1. I have 12 girls. They are nearly 11 weeks old. I decided to give 2 away. One happens to be the current head hancho. Im keeping an EE and a Cochin-neither of which have ever even ACTED like a roo. So I wonder what I can expect? The girls really like to hang out with both of them. They didnt much care for the 2 that are on the way out. Sad they will be dinner for a friend. they are really pretty.

The two remaining roosters should have less to worry about so they have more time to care for the hens. I hope it works out for you

Sounds good to me. Hope it works out nicely!

I recently got rid of some of my roosters too (the troubled ones!), and now I have the perfect group.
I have three roosters now that never fight, and they're bantams.
One Roo stays to himself with his few hens, and the other two Roos hang out together with their hens!

I had to get rid of a roo a few months ago. He was too aggressive and we didn't really want a roo anyways (he was supposed to be a hen). The remaining 5 hens seemed a little lost for the first few days but they quickly established a new pecking order and having been doing great since!

I killed my last rooster 2 weeks ago.
The six hens seem happier.
They look more relaxed, they don't run away from me any more, they are laying more eggs than ever, the feathers that he ripped out of their saddle regions and tops of their heads are starting to grow back.
Much nicer for the hens but I miss the roosters crowing and his good looks.
