The real dark eggs come from Marans breeders not from the Hatchery. go to the Mariners Club website. find some breeders near you and buy some chicks from them this year.

My Cuckoo Marans and Black Copper Marans.. Oh, and Leghorn in middle!
I really thought they would be darker based on pictures I’ve seen on line… Guess it depends on camera, lighting, etc….
