Happy birthday for tomorrow! I turned 30 this May and ad my first eggs ever hatch the day before!!!

Got an issue with feather pecking so have one 3 week old rooster in the sin bin (a wire cage in the shed o seperate him from the others) the little bugger (sorry for the bad language, but he IS) took the top wing feathers off one of my brahmas and the tails off two barnevelders. Caught himm dragging an orpington round by the neck so he's in the naughty corner. I'll reintroduce him in a couple of days and keep an eye on him, if he starts again it's neck wringing time. Have 5/13 that are roosters, so the owner of these barnevelders (my father) gave me permission to do unto him what may well be necessary. Ah well, some things you can't solve.

Those runners are just so gorgeous! I'm looking into getting a few duck eggs and try my hand at hatching. We have a Mallard and a Muscovy, but I have no idea if these two could cross or even if they are different genders! We found one egg, and nary another.
