ok so this has happened to me several times. Here's two stories

My farm borders the town I live in and some immigrant workers work there. We dont hire people because we work on our own property. I'm picking strawberries, and I have pretty dark skin for my parentage, and a couple walks by where I'm picking and the woman asks, " where's your parents?" she says it all drown out, like I don't understand English. I just reply," At my house, and by the way, I'm not a immigrant." Her BF was snickering and the women apologized for her inquiry.

Here's another...

My mother is at the bank with me, my brother and my sister. A elderly women asks my mom,"Are those you're children?" she asks while pointing at my sister and I. My mother replys " Of course, Why wouldnt they be?"
" Well, they're so dark."
"And...."
my mother is getting ******.
We just walk away and say nothing.

Does any one else have this issue or is it only me?

People come in all sorts of wonderful skin tones.

...and I guess, so do oafs.

Learn early not to let another persons lack of manners
upset you.

Often. I've had people come up to me and ask me straight out "What race are you?"

Don't ever be shocked by other people's lack of manners and good sense.

Sourland among other things has been called everything from Hispanic to Arabic. Nope, just Scottish/German - I think.

I don't really give a fiddlers ---- wanna run a DNA on me?

My daughter's two oldest children are fair skinned blondes? I told her to carry their birth certificates or someone might try to confiscate them. Number three is dark haired and complected like sourland and his daughter. Isn't genetics a neat thing?

I have never had it happen, but I sure would have fun with responding to those rude questions!

the human race. some people are just plain rude, pay them no attention.

A story of how crazy people can be. My daughter from birth has had two natural blonde streaks in her brunette hair. One day we where shopping and this old lady starts cussing me out because I had dyed my toddlers hair. Hello it's natural, she would not believe me. She's 17 and still has them.
