I'm just glad she's still alive. Right now all the others are doing great. I made them a big bot of pasta earlier, and now there diging up my moms garden.

I agree kill a dog.

And a POLICE OFFICER has no business telling you this . . .
What is the "probably", arent they the ones who would issue said ticket?
No police officer can tell you how any judgement might end up, they enforce the laws, not sentences/judgements.

I just really dont understand how so many people are so willing to shoot somebodies dog over a chicken.
If that was the case, Id have to shoot my own dogs . . .
Now if your a chicken farmer and a dog killed your flock/income, thats another story.
Would I kill my neighbors dog over my pet chicken . . . NO WAY.

I had to re read the OP's statements a few times and it was confusing. Makes me wonder!

Police officers CAN tell you if the dog owner's got a ticket. It is up to the OP to press charges for the loss of one Silkie hen.

Still confusing either her train of thoughts are scattered or just plain mad "I can not see straight" kind of anger toward the dog.

I agree with Jody, the dog got off once and got lucky this time. Next time, SSS!
