I'm so mad..(my stupidity)

I could just kill one of my call duck hens....! For the second year in a row, she began to sit on a clutch of eggs (11).......she set for 10 days and BAM.......just got up and is no longer setting! I was going to take her eggs from her and incubate them or put them under a broody but, I gave her another chance. She blew it!!!!! I came home from work today and she was wondering around and the eggs were cold as ice. This fall, if she starts to sit I'm taking them away from her right then and doing it myself!!

That's too bad. I wonder what makes them do that? You'd think that at this time of year, they would have very strong setting instincts for survival of their species??

How many babies has she hatched now? Is she a good little mama?

"Fred"....has 4 little one's running around now. She is very protective of them.
