I'm so old I Remember when:

A big X would be my signature if I had to do that!!
There is a contractor locally that signs a X for his purchases at the local hardware and lumber supply. I remember we had a man that was a family friend that had to sign an X on his pay checks. He couldn't read or write in the 1950's.

I remember when Sex Link chickens made the scene in our small town in FL. The first time I saw them one of my wife's uncles had bought some black sex links. His roo had to have an attitude adjustment. I took care of that. He stopped attacking everyone that came in the yard. I humiliated him by catching him and petting him like a little puppy.

I had an uncle who never did learn to read. He could sign his name, but he said that was all the reading he needed. :)

I'm not sure how far in school my grandparents got. But they could read and write. I know that my grandfather was pretty good at forecasting his local weather by observing the skies during the day.

I remember a farmer in MO that would look at a cow he kept that he watched something about her and he forecast the weather using her somehow. That was back in the 70's.

I need to learn how to entertain myself 🤣 Any tips?
If chickens don't work get some ganders, big ganders and invite coworker for a picnic along with the ganders....

I remember what happen to my foreman's wife that was leaning way into the cab of their pickup for the last bag of groceries..... when her gander spotted her.
