It doesn't work that way.I’m sorry to hear this. You’d think after years of exposure your system would have adjusted.

Did for me when I relocated. First couple of years were rough and then nothing. It doesn't work that way.
I've been here in MO for 14 years and my allergies are probably getting worse, not better.Did for me when I relocated. First couple of years were rough and then nothing.
I think I first saw it in an issue of my brother's Boys' Life magazine. We thought it was hilarious.Sounds like a Dad joke.

You're right, many transplants adjust both to the flora and the extreme high temperatures. I'm just not one of them, for whatever reason. I do think getting older has something to do with it.
Last summer was one of the most brutal. I'm already dreading its return. Temps are going to start climbing in just two months. Makes my heart beat fast just thinking about it and not in a good way.
If I didn't have chickens I'd find a way to flee to someplace cooler for a few months. I can't afford a second residence but I could do car camping, house sitting, ranch help, Amtrak pass, something, anything.
The summers have just become too much for me. 2025 is going to be tough.
So sorry. AZ and NM were perfect for me, I had no allergies there. None until I moved here. Moss and mold, ugh! And now, for the first time ever, I am allergic to my cats!
Maybe they have mold spores on their coats, idk.

My mom still dries her clothes on the line. When we were little, us girls made my mom put our unmentionables in the middle of the clothes line, between other clothes, because we had all boy neighbors and we were embarassed to have them on the lineAnyone still doing this?
Yes, except in the winter.Anyone still doing this?
Come to the middle East Coast - it's the farthest thing from a desert. It's hot and humid in the summer, with fairly mild winters and one good snowfall per year. Spring and summer are lovely. And usually lots of trees. I like it and can't imagine living anywhere else!I'll be relocating in a few years. It's tough to choose a new place to live. I'd love to be back on a coast at least for a little while. I think I need it to heal from all these years in the desert! It's really done a number on my lungs and my eyes.
