I'm so old I Remember when:

4 c flour
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c baking powder.

Each cup of mix gets 1 egg, 2T oil and milk. Easy to remember and no toxic additives.
Unless you count the toxic chemicals Big Ag sprays on the wheat and sugar cane in the field.
(and I didn't need RFKJ to tell me that)

I remember when you’d cut the box tops off cereal boxes for school. Then they had it where you’d scan a QR code. I don’t know if that even exists anymore.
I remember saving and redeeming Kool Aid points off the little packets. I've still got not 1 but 2 Kool Aid man pitchers. One is still in good shape but the other was chewed on by the puppies when Elly had her litter and is now used as a scoop for the chicken feed.

I'm pretty sure I already mentioned this a few hundred pages ago but some are new here and might not have read. Others of us don't remember every trivial thing mentioned - neither here nor by our nearest and dearest. 🫤

I remember both black ink typewriter ribbon, black and red ink typewriter ribbon and then cellophane ribbon that has the "ink" on the back. The print from this sort came out crisper than the actual inked cloth ribbon but made a mess - all over the floor when we were playing detectives and read the secret messages Mom had typed to her fellow spies. 🤣🤣

We make our own mix. My sister @CCsGarden knows how to make a tasty pancake.

4 cups of flour
1/2 cup sugar
8 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs

2 eggs
3 1/2 cups milk

1 small egg
3 oz. milk or buttermilk
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp vinegar
1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp sugar or sucralose
1 1/2 tsp baking powder (preferably aluminum free)
1/4 tsp salt

Beat egg, milk, oil and vinegar thoroughly (hand beater works really well).

Mix in dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder and salt) with a fork, quickly. Do not over mix. Let set one minute, pour or ladle onto heated griddle or skillet. Flip when ready.

Makes 2 large pancakes.

If desired, add fresh blueberries by hand to the batter as soon as it is on the griddle.

Mixes well with the organic matter the pigeons and other birds leave on it while it's being loaded or unloaded from barges at grain elevators. Seen it for myself, man there was alot of birds

Well, until I'm set up to harvest my own wheat, I still need to eat. I need to draw the line somewhere.

I'm more concerned about aluminum in the baking powder, but that one can be mitigated by careful shopping.
