I'm SO UPSET..I don't know what to do...

If you have the option, I'd put the chicks together first. You may have to wait a little longer, too, but I introduced 20 five week old chicks to 4 year and a half old hens without a problem. The hens tried to peck them, but the chicks had a tipped dog crate they could get into but the hens couldn't. And 20 was too much for them. The little guys stuck together and would occasionally drive the hens away. They don't fight at all now.

i have 3 adult hens and 26 5 mos old to mix.. we put them in the garden and three buffs walked over and they chased one off and the other two just stayed with them all day.. i think they either like them or hate them.. going to put all together and when the night comes they can choose who to roost with.. will do it for a few days then divide the run up and the coop and seperate them into 3 groups. they can choose which roo to go with and it will become permanent. some seem to prefer one roo to another. guess all us girls have different tastes.. lol
