Okay, so I know everyone has their "first" egg story. Nothing big here, I'm just really excited that we got eggs earlier than expected and had to share with everyone on BYC. The only funny part was I came running out of the coop yelling "we've got an egg" and my husband thought I was yelling "snake". When he found out it was an egg, not a snake, the effect wasn't as great. He's more worried about snakes in the coop than eggs I guess
Awesome. I've got some that hit 20 weeks yesterday and I've yet to see an egg from any of them. Perhaps soon... it's just so HOT here. 1AM and it's still 100 degrees out there!
I believe this one was from our RIR...she's the only one "acting" like a hen right now. The other one that is starting to follow, our americana, will lay blue or green eggs, so it's not her. It's been around 85 degrees here but it amazingly stays really cool in the coop because of all the shade from the trees. Best of luck, hopefully you'll get eggs soon. It's a great feeling when you see the first one, I almost feel silly at how excited I was but who cares, it was fun
