I'm starting to freak out - day 20 and no pips

Lockdown was today. These next 3 - 5 days feel longer than the first 18 days.

We only set six eggs because we re-homed our rooster and we set the last of the eggs. We have/had three good ones. So, I guess our odds are NOT good to begin with.

Day 21 - We just candled them. One was moving! It makes me think that maybe there is still a chance!

I'll keep you posted! Thanks for the pep-talks!

THis is a count system that I can't understand. LOL So I either set at midnight, with that day being zero, or make a new clock if I set at noon time, and noon to noon is day zero.

THe chicks can arrive early or late simply because of a slight difference in incubating temperature. If there has been a day of really low temps , the eggs need many hours to rise back to the optimum temperature of 99.5. Below 85 degrees the early embyo doesn't grow-

I wait at least 5 days after what I think is the due date; and if I'm not reloading the incubator I leave the eggs 7 or more days.
