I'm Stumped!

I’m far from an expert, but this is my bantam Cochin roo. He’s about a year, but his neck/hackle feathers look far pointier than on yours. I think you’d see some of that developing by 5 months, my guess is hen!

He is a gorgeous guy too!
Yeah I have to agree with you. I can't for the life of me remember if he has the roo feathers or not and I just saw him! (Pregnancy brain)

I completely understand, I’m also pregnant at the moment. You’re going to know soon one way or the other though...if he/she is squatting, usually means an egg is imminent!

Haha congrats!
True! And I'd be completely ok with more big Cochin eggs, I just wanted a roo :hit my hubbz will be happy with this though. He says I can only have two roos and that was suppose to be that lug up there^ and my paint silkie. Oooh well

Well guys.... turns out Cochin roo is a hen.

But what has me really messed up now is that silkie! Popped a huge comb a couple weeks back but has yet to crow even though he's 6months old! Here's a pic again...looks like a roo right? He just squatted for me this morning  I don't get it! Two "roos" that look the part in the comb and yet both are hens?! I'm so lost.

I should add that my other two silkie hens that are a little older and a month younger have quite flat no bump combs are they too going to pop a comb even though they're hens?

The Silkie could still be a pullet. My Silkie hen developed a comb like that at 10 months and did not lay till 12 months. Also, I don't see any streamers on that silkie. It could be a pullet, 6 month cockerels that haven't developed yet is pretty rare in sikies but not unheard of.

I have never heard of a rooster squatting and never had one squat for me. Are you sure they aren't pullets Flockandfowl46? If they are cockerels then I learned something new today... Do you have any pictures?
