I'm sure I'm crazy.

She's a rescue hen of sorts. They did have mites, and I treated htem, and it worked well, since I don't have a coop yet or anything, so they weren't a huge issue. THey are all gone. I believe she either molted - they pulled her feathers out or...

I dnt know. Her body goes from blood red, to white, her feet turn red too when her body is red, then they all go back to white/yellow normal looking.

I did find out, miss baldy is one of the girls laying the gigantic eggs! Soo yes she's a hen. And yes, I was crazy.

how long did you treat for? it takes several treatments to get rid of mites
I only treated them one time. There are no bugs on them at all. I look every day. I look in their wings against their skin.

The bugs I saw were red flea like looking things that you could sort of see through. But since they came to me with the bugs - and I didn't have a coop that bugs were infested in, I think they went away fairly easy?

I haven't seen anything at all moving on any of them. The coop still isnt' closed in - so they're still free ranging - but they put themselves in their small little coop thing at night to roost. But it's all wire, so I don't think bugs can hide in there. I mean I hope they're all gone. ALl the rest of the hens are starting to look great - and I do believe this ones feathers are coming back S L O W L Y.

So if I don't ever see anything on them, do I still have to treat?
