I just became a chicken farmer yesterday when my friend, Jacob, who is moving to Colorado, bequested us with 8 chickens, a nice coop, and all we need to get started. Jacob knows a lot about chickens, and I know nothing. He recommended the site.

Orpingtons are a wonderful breed. I've raised them for years and they are very hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and good layers of large brown eggs. ) Good luck with your flock.
