Males are louder, but typically for only 3-4 months a year. August through March they are quiet pretty much. Best of luck

6littlechickies,,August cannot come soon enough here.For the last 3 weeks now it's been possible to sleep past 5:30 am.I was having to do damage control for the peas for many weeks here.Even tho the Palace is located maybe 300' away from the house with a few buildings in between they do get loud and kinda obnoxious at times.1 Male will start but then all males has to top the first one.then most of the hens has to get at least a nickels worth of griping in too.And once per hour isn't enough,,,no,,not here,,and so what if it's 2am,,something gets one of their tail feathers ruffled,,whatever the cause gets a real a-- chewing from the entire flock. You would almost think no peas are here now at all,very quiet compared to April,May,June,July,,and very well recieved by wifey and daughter.
