I'm writing a book

I was wondering the same thing. The place where my daughter rides just got a new boarder. The horse was advertised as "shown by 12 year old at walk and trot." Guess what happens when you try to canter him? He removes the rider... He's 14 - a little old to be learning canter, but the owner is going to try her hardest. You always HOPE that there is still time for men to learn...

We had a horse like that at the barn. Just a lovable ol' mush on the ground, ok at walk and trot, but ask for a canter and you got a rodeo! Turned out he had a back problem. I suppose that could go in a chapter titled, "sometimes, it's not about you." Hmm.
