My Buff Orpington hen Rosie is about 2 years old now. An original from when I started my flock 2 years ago. For the past week she's been kind of keeping to herself and when I picked her up (because she loves when I pick her up and give pets and kisses and we have very intelligent conversation and talk about the day) she seemed very bottom heavy. Today when I put everyone in for the night she wasn't there. I found her in her favorite nook up by the house. I picked her up and I noticed her breast bone seemed very distinct like she's underweight. I didn't feel a lot in her crop but her bottom under her breastbone down to her between her legs seems really poofy or swollen and squishy compared to my other hens. Also she's ' drooling' has her feathers puffed and her head pulled in. Her comb doesn't seem pale. I brought her into the house to our quarantine room gave her some plain oikos yogurt with vagisil because I'm told drooling could be impacted crop but could it be? Her crop doesn't seem squishy or hard her beak doesn't smell. She didn't seem interested in it so I mixed it with a little tuna because I figured if she hasn't been eating I'd give her some protien and she DEVOURED it. I made up some water with Sav a chic electrolytes and prebiotic. She's eating well, drinking and seems alert. My only other thing is her poop. Her vent it clear and she's pooping. One seemed dark dark brown almost black and watery and one poop was lighter brown but still watery. When I wiped it up I didn't see anything that looked like worms. Right now she's walking around the house like she owns the place. Has anyone ever experienced this 'bottom heavyness' in chickens? Sorry so long I'd really like to be able to help her i hate to see my chickens ill plus shes my favorite girl
I took a picture of her poop I can post it if you think it would help to see it
