Hello,
I am trying to treat an impacted crop at home. At what point should I take my chicken to the vet? Her crop is quite large and warm, but she is alert, Comb looks healthy today (yesterday was pale and floppy) and she is still pooping, poops look mostly healthy.

If you have access to a vet and can afford it, I would take her now. If you can't get to a vet do a search on here for impacted cross as there are many threads already with great advice. I have minimal experience with an impacted crop, mine resolved with some coconut oil and crop massages in just 2 days.

How long have you been treating her and how have you been treating her?

If you have a vet that is well versed in poultry, then it's always a good idea to consult them about any issues that arise.

Read through this article and the comments as well - you may find it very helpful in treating your hen.
