Impacted crop

My chicks have very hard, visibly engorged crops. They’re acting ok, but I don’t remember this with other chicks. Feeding Manna Pro Organic. Do they need grit too? Only 5 days old. They couldn’t seem to work with the big pellet-crumbles so I soaked & served crumbly but soft (not sopping wet). They go insane for it and eat ridiculous amounts. I tried adding a little ACV to water & mildly fermenting feed. No change.

Sounds like they are just eating a bunch. They're still learning to regulate themselves. At this point I would not worry as long as they are alert and active. I always feed grit as chicks will eat bedding but that is just me
