My chicken has been getting picked on lately, and when I picked her up to protect her from another hen, a ton of clear, thick liquid came out of her mouth. She is making strange, quiet, squeaking noises occasionally and is drinking a lot of water. Her crop seems rather large as well. Please help! Any diagnosis/ treatments??

Whenever chickens have been drinking a lot of water, or they have liquid in the crop, they can spit up easily when picked up or held with the head tilted forward. If the liquid is dark and has a sour or rotten odor, it could be sour crop. Sour crop can be fungal or bacterial. The crop should be mostly empty first thing in the morning before eating. If it is big and squishy, it may be sour crop or possibly a slow crop. Certain illnesses can cause the crop to empty slowly. Has she been wormed lately, and does she have any other symptoms? I would try to determine if there really is a crop problem, or something else going on. Crop problems would be best treated by a vet, but here are some links about it:
