It's grow-gel. Weird stuff but it was recommended to me for their first day. They ate about a quarter of it but I don't know if it's really necessary... Maybe if chicks have a hard trip. I sprinkled the chick feed over it after taking pics and they went crazy over the real stuff so I filled the feeder and they dug right in. They're all peeping softly and sleepy with full tummies.
