Hi guys! I've had Goldens and Amhersts for a few years now and have always wanted to get a pair of Impeyans. Just wondering about issues with their pens. Would five feet be high enough for them? Not sure if they spend most of their time on the ground or mostly arboreal. Also, I know they like to dig but do you need to bury wire mesh in the ground to keep them from getting out? Would an 8X12 be a big enough pen for them? Thanks in advance!

Hi Tony,
6 feet hi would be better or if you can go 10 feet,They love to perch hi and look around. They love to dig but really don't seem to try and dig out,but I would put an apron of wire around the bottom to keep predators from digging in.My hen seems to perch more then the male in the day time. The 8x12 is ok but bigger is always better.

A concept that I had was usually a gravel mixed sand around the barriers. I believe it would prevent much digging. A wire apron is always a good decision.
